How it started
My first real exposure to Design Science Research (DSR) was Prof. Jan vom Brocke’s YouTube video. His clear framing of kernel theory → design principles → design rules → evaluation gave me an instant “aha!” moment.
That spark grew after Dr. Amber Young’s Platform Seminar, where the EDGE method showed me how to translate ethical theory into concrete design moves. Those two touchpoints turned interest into a path.
What’s next
I’m excited to join the Two-Week Online Doctoral Seminar in Design Science Research, led by Prof. Jan vom Brocke (ERCIS) with Prof. Matthias Söllner and Prof. Daniel Beverungen.
Why I’m attending
- Sharpen the craft: Move from theory to publishable artifacts with disciplined evaluation.
- Build a community: Learn with and from the DSR alumni network.
- Aim for impact: Design solutions that matter in real organizations.
My focus areas for the seminar
- Compassionate Responding Systems (CRS) for healthcare burnout, grounded in the EDGE method.
What I hope to learn (and share)
- Structuring a DSR project from kernel theory selection to acceptance tests.
- Writing strong design principles and context-specific rules.
- Designing evaluations that meet journal-level standards (and pave a path to DESRIST 2026 submissions).
Let’s connect
If you’ll also be in the seminar—or you work on DSR, compassion-oriented IS, or AI adoption—reach out. I’m happy to swap notes, co-design, or collaborate on evaluation studies.
